Xiaomi Mi 8 with 8GB RAM & 256GB Storage Variant Launched

Xiaomi has launched its new smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 8 in China. This smartphone is actually a upgraded variant of a previously launched Mi 8 handset. This variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Previously, the Mi 8 debuted with 6GB of RAM, while the Mi 8 Explorer Edition had 8GB of RAM. However, except for the larger RAM and storage capacities, this new Xiaomi Mi 8 variant is identical to the original Mi 8 model, which was launched previously this year. The new Mi 8 variant will be available in Black and Blue colour options. Currently, this handset will be available for purchase through Mi.com and JD.com.

Let us take a look at the specifications of this new smartphone by Xiaomi:

The new Mi 8 sports a 6.21-inch full-HD+ (1080×2248 pixels) AMOLED display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM. As mentioned earlier, this handset packs a 256GB of internal storage. This dual-SIM (Nano) support device runs Android Oreo along with MIUI 10 on top.

Coming to the camera department, this phone features a dual rear camera setup that includes two 12-megapixel sensors with dual pixel autofocus. This camera setup supports features such as AI Portrait and AI scene detection. Up front, it features a 20-megapixel sensor.

In terms of connectivity, this smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. The handset has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor to unlock the display. Sensors on board includes an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, infrared, and a proximity sensor. This new Mi 8 variant is fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0+.
