Sui Dhaaga Trailer Out: Varun & Anushka fight for respect with self-employment in this upcoming flick

Finally, the trailer of much anticipated Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer movie, Sui Dhaaga is out. Both the actors brought us the most adorable little story of a couple looking to make their dreams come true. This upcoming film is inspired by the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. As per reports, this film’s plot is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy and takes a leaf out of the Make In India campaign.

Coming to the 3 min 11 sec long trailer, Mauji played by Varun is a tailor from Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, while Anushka plays his wife, Mamta, who is an embroidery expert. The video opens with Mauji, who is a salesman at a shop that sells sewing machines. He works as a salesman at that store and suffers the whims of his master and employer as he is unable to find work as a tailor and therefore has to suffer the whims of his master and employer.

Once, his wife Mamta, who hates watching him get humiliated all the time inspires him to start working on his own. After which Mauji picks his sewing machine and begins his journey towards self-employment, as Mamta helps him expand it into a small-scale handloom industry. Later the trailer shows us how they both work together and fight for respect and run a business that they can call their own.

Recently, the makers of Sui Dhaaga shared a video, where they started promoting their movie in a creative and unique way. The video shows us how the team of the film reached out to several embroiders across India to design the logo of their film in their signature embroidery style. From Kantha work to Phulkaari, artisans sent their creations which were all compiled into the main logo of the film.

Sui Dhaaga is directed by Sharat Katariya and bankrolled by Maneesh Sharma. Starring Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. This film brings back the combination of National Award-winning producer-director duo, who won many hearts with their first collaboration Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Sui Dhaaga is scheduled to hit theatres on Sep 28.
