Sanju Trailer: Ranbir will take us with him on a rollercoaster ride of Sanjay Dutt’s life

Finally, the most awaited first trailer of the film Sanju, which is based on the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is out. Lead actor of the film Ranbir brilliantly portrays the life of Sanjay Dutt in this powerful trailer with all shades and emotions, also showcases various stages of Sanjay Dutt’s life. The trailer begins with the younger days of Sanjay Dutt, when Sanju’s on screen character opens up about his drug addiction, his affairs and also makes a reference to an alleged connection with the underworld and the media speculation surrounding it. While the characters and the entire feel of the trailer is very impressive but looks like the entire movie is clearly an attempt to clarify that Sanjay Dutt is not a terrorist. We also hear Ranbir saying this over and over again in the trailer that “I am not a terrorist’’.

The three-minute long trailer begins with Ranbir aka Sanju talking to the audience and telling them that he is happy that his autobiography will reach them soon. Ranbir Kapoor continues by saying “Main bewra hoon, tharki hoon, drug addict hoon, saab hoon.. lekin terrorist nahin hoon.” He then reveals that the first time he experimented with drugs was when he was upset with his father Sunil Dutt played by Paresh Rawal and the next time he indulged in drug abuse was when his mother Nargis played by Manisha Koirala was under medical diagnosis.

By the third time, he confessed of being an addict. In another scene, Sanju was asked by a journalist/lawyer played by Anushka Sharma about how many affairs he’s had and to that his response was “let us take a rounded figure as 350”. After this, the trailer will take you on a rollercoaster ride with Sanju but soon, the ride will take you to the harsh part of his life, when begins his trial for the illegal possession of arms in connection to the 1993 Bombay blasts. The trailer also shows few glimpses of his jail term, which will leave you teary eyed. Sonam Kapoor as Tina Munim, who was rumoured to be Sanjay Dutt’s love interest also appears in the trailer. Similarly, Dia Mirza features as Mr Dutt’s wife Maanyata while Vicky Kaushal plays his childhood friend and now brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav. After watching the trailer, we just can’t wait to watch the film.

Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani and others. Sanju is scheduled to release on June 29, 2018.
