R Madhavan & Vijay Sethupathi Starrer Vikram Vedha to be remade in Hindi

Super Hit Tamil film Vikram Vedha, starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, is going to be remade in Hindi. This film was applauded for its intriguing screenplay and top-class performances by the lead characters. Vikram Vedha was a unique film that was made in recent times, its huge success sparked rumours about the film would be remade in other languages.

As per reports, the original directors Pushkar and Gayatri, who made the Tamil version have been retained to make the Hindi version of Vikram Vedha. Producer Neeraj Pandey has also joined the team as a writer and creative producer while Reliance Entertainment, Friday Filmworks and Y Not Studios will co-produce this untitled film. Currently, there is no information about the cast yet.

Vikram Vedha is an action-crime thriller, released last year in July. It is a story of a tough cop Vikram played by R Madhavan, who forms a task force to nab a gangster Vedha played by Vijay Sethupathi and his gang. In this process, Vedha plays mind games with the Vikram before he takes him head on. Vikram Vedha had come out with positive reviews and starred Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Shraddha Srinath and Kathir in prominent roles.

Earlier, there was a buzz that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was considered to play one of the lead roles in the Hindi remake. It was also reported that he was approached for Vijay Sethupathi’s grey character in the film. However, SRK eventually dropped the offer as it would resemble his previous flick Fan where people ended up sympathising with the movie’s antagonist.

The pre-production of Vikram Vedha Hindi version is currently under process. However, it will be interesting to see, which two stars will be playing Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi’s roles in the Hindi remake.
