Oppo’s online-only sub-brand Realme launched its first smartphone Oppo Realme 1 last week. This new smartphone will now go on sale in India by Amazon flash sale. The Oppo Realme 1 will be available in three variants, in which the top-end variant comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. This new smartphone is among the few phones with 6GB RAM that is priced in India at under Rs. 15,000. This phone is built out of a fibre-glass body.

Let us take a look at the specifications of this new smartphone by Oppo:
The new Realme 1 sports a 6-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 SoC that’s clocked up to 2GHz, coupled with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM depending on the variant, as well as a dual-core AI-specific chip. This phone comes with 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage, depending on the variant and all these variants can be further expandable via microSD card. The dual-SIM support smartphone runs ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, complete with an India-specific theme.
Coming to the camera department, the new Realme 1 features a 13-megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash and Up front it features an 8-megapixel sensor. The company claims that by using the Oppo’s AI Beauty 2.0 feature that apart from beautification also offers 296-point facial recognition. It also features AR stickers for both the front and rear cameras.
In terms of connectivity options, it includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio and a hybrid SIM slot for dual-SIM connectivity. The makers also claim to have an AI Board assistant on board. This smartphone also supports a Face Unlock feature, which is said to unlock the smartphone in 0.1 seconds, but it doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor. The Realme 1 is fuelled by a 3410mAh battery.
Now, let us take a look at the price and availability of this new smartphone:
The Realme 1 in India is priced at Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB RAM variant and Rs. 13,990 for the 6GB RAM variant. Currently, the Realme 1 will be available for purchase in only two variants, 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. Meanwhile, the 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage variant will be released in coming weeks and will not be available during the first sale. The colour options available for the current variants are Diamond Black and Solar Red finishes. On the other hand, the yet to be released variant will come in Diamond Black and Moonlight Silver colour options. This new Realme 1 by Oppo is an Amazon-exclusive, Made in India product.
