Oppo R15, Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition Launched

After many rumours surfacing on internet about the Oppo’s latest smartphones. The Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition have been launched in China. Both the smartphones have AI Intelligent Scene Recognition technology that is claimed to recognise 16 scenes and 120 multi-scene combinations. Also, there is a built-in AI chip that enables AI portraits and can scan as many as 296 feature points on a face through a preloaded AI smart beauty feature. Both the latest smartphones by Oppo comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Oppo R15 launch

Let us take a look at the specifications of these new smartphones by Oppo.

The Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition sports a 6.28-inch (1080×2280 pixels) full-HD+ OLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The Oppo R15 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 SoC, coupled with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU and 6GB of RAM, while the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition has a Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with Adreno 512 GPU and 6GB of RAM. Both come with 128GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card in a hybrid configuration in this dual-SIM (Nano) device. Both these Oppo R15 smartphones run Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.0.

Coming to the camera department, Both the Oppo R15 smartphones have dual rear camera setups, the Oppo R15 has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 primary sensor with EIS and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the other hand, Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition comes with a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with a 16-megapixel primary sensor. Both have a 20-megapixel sensor up front.

In terms of connectivity, these new Oppo smartphones have 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. The Oppo R15 is fuelled by a 3450mAh battery, whereas the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition is fuelled by a 3400mAh battery. Both handsets support Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charging technology.

Now, about the price and availability of these latest smartphones by Oppo.

The Oppo R15 is priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 30,800). On the other side, the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition in Dream Mirror Red version is priced at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 33,900) and its Ceramic Edition is priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 35,900). The Oppo R15 will be available in Snow White, Hot Red, and Star Purple colour variants. Whereas, the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition will be available in Dream Mirror Red version and Ceramic Edition. These new Oppo R15 handsets will go on sale in China from April1, and they are already available for pre-orders. However, there is no official announcements about their launch and availability in India yet.
