Moto G6, G6 Plus, G6 Play Launched: Check out for Specs, Features and More

Lenovo-owned Motorola launched its new Moto G6 line-up. Motorola’s Moto G6 line-up consists of three affordable mid-range smartphones like the Moto G6, the Moto G6 Plus and the Moto G6 Play. The new Moto G6 Plus sits at the top of the series with a bigger display, faster processor, and more RAM than its other two variants. While, Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play have the same display size and RAM, but vary in terms of battery capacity, camera configuration, and the SoC.

Let us take a look into the Specifications of these new smartphones by Motorola

Moto G6:

The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch screen with full-HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. This smartphone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB RAM. The Moto G6 packs 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. This dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) smartphone runs stock Android 8.0 Oreo. Coming to the camera, there is a dual rear facing camera setup, which includes 12-megapixel primary sensor with 76-degree lens and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with 79-degree lens. It comes with a dual-tone, dual-lens flash on the back. Up front it packs an 8-megapixel along with a single LED flash. About the connectivity part, this smartphone has 4G LTE, WI-Fi, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm earphone jack, the standard sensors, and Bluetooth 4.2. The Moto G6 is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery with TurboCharge support

Moto G6 Plus:

The Moto G6 Plus features a 5.93-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixel) resolution. This smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor, with Adreno 508 GPU and 4GB RAM. The Moto G6 Plus packs 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. This dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) smartphone runs stock Android 8.0 Oreo. Coming to the camera, there is a dual rear camera setup, which includes 12-megapixel primary sensor with 78-degree lens and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with 79-degree lens. Up front it has an 8-megapixel camera with 80-degree lens. This phone has dual-tone, dual-lens LED flash on the back, and a selfie flash in front. About the connectivity part, this smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and the usual set of sensors. The Moto G6 Plus is fuelled by a 3200mAh, with a support Motorola’s TurboPower adaptor (which company claims to deliver 7 hours of use on a charge of 15 minutes).

Moto G6 Play:

The Moto G6 Play features a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio too, but it gets a panel with HD+ (720×1440 pixel) resolution. This smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz oct-core Snapdragon 430, with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB RAM. The Moto G6 Play packs 32GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. This dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) smartphone runs stock Android 8.0 Oreo. Coming to the Camera, this smartphone has a 13-megapixel camera with single LED flash on the rear side, while up front it has a similar selfie flash and an 8-megapixel sensor with 80-degree lens. About connectivity options, include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and the usual sensors. The Moto G6 Play is fuelled by a large 4000mAh battery with TurboCharge support.

In terms of security, Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus comes with a fingerprint sensor in the front, below the display. While, Moto G6 Play has it embedded in the Moto logo on the back pannel.

Now, let us find out about the price and availability of this smartphone by Moto.

As of now, the Moto G6 is priced at $249 (roughly Rs. 16,500), while the Moto G6 Play is priced at $199 (roughly Rs. 13,000). On the other hand, the Moto G6 Plus is priced at EUR 299 (roughly Rs. 24,350). Coming to the colour options, the Moto G6 will be available in Indigo and Silver colour options. Meanwhile, Moto G6 Plus and G6 Play will be available in Indigo and Gold colours options.

However, there is no word about the price in India or release date yet. As per the reports, these smartphones will be available to purchase in Brazil now and next week in Mexico. Other countries in Asia Pacific – including India, Europe, Latin America and North America markets will get these smartphones to purchase in coming months.
