Meizu Pro 7 with dual-display launched in India

The Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has quietly launched its flagship ‘Pro 7’ smartphone in India. The Pro 7’s unique selling point is it comes with a dual display and a duel camera setup. The secondary display of Pro 7 is to give users a quick look at the time, local weather and a run-down of a few notifications. This secondary screen of Meizu Pro 7 lies on the rear side of the phone immediately below the camera set-up.

This secondary display which is located below the camera setup is fairly substantial at 2-inch and because it is a Super AMOLED panel, colours should technically go out of their way to pop and please. Looks like the users can also use this screen to take selfies using the phones better equipped rear cameras just the way they will do when clicking selfies with the front camera.

Let us take a look at the specifications of this new smartphone by Meizu.

Meizu Pro 7 features a standard a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display at the front with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, and 16:9 aspect ratio. On the other side the secondary display on the back features a 2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 536×240 pixels. This new smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 SoC coupled with Mali-T880MP2 GPU. It packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This new Meizu Pro 7 runs Android 7.0 Nougat layered with Meizu’s Flyme 6 UI.

Coming to the camera department, the Meizu sports a dual 12-megapixel rear facing camera setup. This dual rear camera supports phase detection autofocus, dual-tone dual LED flash, and can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second.  Up front, it has a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies.

In terms of connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and 4G LTE. This new smartphone is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery. Pro 7 comes with a USB Type-C port for charging and data-syncing, which the company claims to charge the phone from zero to 67 percent in 30 minutes with the help of mCharge technology. On the design front, the Meizu Pro 7 comes with a full-metal body and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Now, let us look into the price and availability of this new smartphone.

The company officially announced the availability of the smartphone in the Indian market via its official Twitter handle. The Meizu Pro 7 is now available exclusively on Amazon India and priced at Rs 22,999. On Amazon India, the smartphone is being sold by a third-party retailer known as ITECH, and it mentions that Pro 7 will be available in limited stocks only. This new smartphone will be available only in black colour variant.
