Lust Stories trailer: Bombay Talkies makers reunite and gives a message about hurting the one you love

The trailer of an upcoming film Lust Stories, which is said to the sequel to Bombay Talkies is out. Back in 2013, four of the most successful filmmakers of Indian cinema such as Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee came together to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema and released a film titled Bombay Talkies. The film featured four short stories and featured a huge cast like Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukerji, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Randeep Hooda, Saqib Saleem, Ranveer Shorey, Vineet Singh etc. However, Bombay Talkies got a big blow at the box office and ended up becoming a flop movie.

Now, five years after Bombay Talkies, the same four directors Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee have reunited for a film titled Lust Stories. The film was earlier called as Bombay Talkies 2.

Lust Stories also looks like a collection of four short stories by these directors were,

Karan Johar’s story feature a newly married couple Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani that explores sexual dissatisfaction in marriage. Neha Dhupia makes an appearance too.

Anurag Kashyap’s story features married Radhika Apte who’s in a physical relationship with young Akash Thosar.

Zoya Akhtar’s story features a house-help played by Bhumi Pednekar who is in a love lust relation with the house owner’s son Neil Bhoopalam.

Dibakar Banerjee’s story features Manisha Koirala as a married woman, who’s having an affair with her husband’s (Sanjay Kapoor) best friend (Jaideep Ahlawat). This story revolves around extra-marital affair.

The 1 min 49 sec long trailer starts off with Anurag Kashyap’s story, were Radhika Apte delivers a dialogue that quite beautifully sets the tone of the film, which is about hurting the ones you love. The film is about modern relationships set in different social environments and explores how lust affects relationships.

This film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala under his banner RSVP along with Ashi Dua of Flying Unicorn Entertainment. Starring Manisha Koirala, Radhika Apte, Kiara Advani, Bhumi Pednekar, Neha Dhupia, Sanjay Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Akash Thosar, Neil Bhoopalam, Jaideep Ahlawat and others. Unlike Bombay Talkies, Lust Stories will not be releasing in theatres, but it will have a digital release. Lust stories will start streaming on Netflix from 15 June. After Love Per Square Foot, Lust Stories is the second Indian film to have a Netflix-only release.
