HTC Desire 12, Desire 12+ Launched in India

HTC has launched two new mid-range smartphones in its desire series, HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ in India. These new HTC smartphones come with an acrylic glass back surface and claims to have the biggest displays compared with the other HTC Desire series phones till date. Few other highlights of these smartphones are: The HTC Desire 12 is powered by a MediaTek processor and features a 13-megapixel rear camera. On the other hand, the HTC Desire 12+ is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC, it features a dual rear camera setup and a LED flash module on the front for selfies. Both these smartphones also offer PDAF (phase detection autofocus).

Let us take a look at the specifications of these new smartphones by HTC:

HTC Desire 12:

The HTC Desire 12 sports a 5.5-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC, coupled with 3GB RAM. This smartphone packs 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. This dual-SIM (Nano) support device runs Android with HTC Sense UI on top.

Coming to the camera department, the HTC desire 12 features a single 13-megapixel BSI camera sensor on the rear with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) feature and an LED flash. Up front, it features a 5-megapixel BSI sensor.

In terms of connectivity, this smartphone includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an ambient light, proximity sensor, motion G-sensor, and a magnetic sensor. The HTC desire 12 is fuelled by a 2730mAh battery.

HTC Desire 12+:

The HTC Desire 12+ sports a 6-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, paired with 3GB of RAM. This smartphone also packs 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. This dual-SIM (Nano) device runs Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense UI on top.

Coming to the camera department, the HTC Desire 12+ features a dual rear camera setup, which comes with a 13-megapixel BSI primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. In this smartphone, the duel camera setup enables features such as Bokeh mode, Face detection, and Panorama mode. Up front, It features an 8-megapixel BSI camera sensor with features such as Beauty mode and HDR.

In terms of connectivity, this smartphone includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an ambient light, proximity sensor, motion G-sensor, and a compass. For security, it has a fingerprint sensor on the back. The HTC Desire 12+ is fuelled by a 2965mAh battery.

The HTC Desire 12 in India is priced at Rs. 15,800, while the Desire 12+ is priced at Rs. 19,790. Both these smartphones will be available in Cool Black and Warm Silver colour options.
