Director Ram Gopal Varma is well known for the controversies about his films and yet again he chooses a very controversial topic for his new project which is a web film, titled as “God, Sex and Truth” with porn star Mia Malkova releasing on 26th of Jan. A day before the release of his new web film, Hyderabad police booked filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma for obscenity on a complaint by a social activist.
As per reports, women groups have started protesting against the director in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, demanding a ban on the release of this movie on web and his immediate arrest. The activists of All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), AP Mahila Samakhya and other groups raised slogans against Varma. They say that the filmmaker is portraying woman as a sex object and promoting pornography. And he is releasing this movie on web to avoid the certification by authorities.
When the filmmaker was asked about the film, he described that it is about a “revolutionary sexual philosophy” which is narrated by Malkova. He also shared few pictures on his twitter account and his post read, “I truly believe that there’s no location on earth which is more beautiful and more monumental than a woman’s body.”
In another report, a writer named P. Jaya Kumar filed a case against Varma at Hyderabad City Civil Court for allegedly violating copyright. Jaya Kumar claimed that the filmmaker made “God, Sex and Truth” using his story.
