The Dell Latitude 7285 is said to be the world’s first wirelessly charging laptop which is now on sale, but for its charging feature you will have to purchase an extra kit. For this extra kit, you need to spend some more cash, because wireless charging feature is not inbuilt in the Tablet, it uses a wireless charging base. This is a similar concept to wireless charging of smartphones, where you place a smartphone onto a wireless charging mat or dock. Also, you’d have to buy even the basic, non-wireless charging keyboard separately.
Wireless charging means you don’t need to mess around for a charging cable, and you can keep the charging cable out of sight. But wireless charging mat, would still need to be connected via cable to a power outlet.
Dell also says that the wireless charging mat can’t be used on a metal surface, as the wireless charging technology it uses involves magnetism. If at all want to use the wireless charging mat on a metal surface, you’d have to place it two inches up on a non-metallic stand.
Dell Latitude 7285 is said to gets you 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Other specs include a 2880 x 1920 anti-glare display and an Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake processor. If you want more features more RAM, storage, and Core i7 chips are also available.
