Attarintiki Daredi Tamil Remake: Lyca acquired the rights to Remake Pawan Kalyan’s mega Telugu blockbuster

Earlier, Lyca Productions announced that they have bought the Tamil remake rights of Pawan Kalyan’s blockbuster Telugu film Attarintiki Daredi, which was written and directed by Trivikram. With projects such as 2.0, Indian 2, Kolamaavu Kokila and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam in their bag, Lyca Productions is one of the most sought-after production companies in Tamil film Industry.

The production company took to their official Twitter handle to make the announcement and thanked Trivikram for the opportunity. The post read, “We are very happy to announce that we have acquired the Tamil remake rights of the mega Telugu blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi! More exciting updates on this coming up.”

Attarintiki Daredi (2013) is the last known blockbuster of Pawan Kalyan in his career. The story of this flick revolves around a grandson, played by Pawan, who promises his grandfather to help him reunite with his daughter. Attarintiki Daredi was not only a commercial success but also went on to winning awards that include Filmfare Award for Best Director (Telugu), Nandi Awards for Best Popular Feature Film and Best Dialogue Writer.

Previously, Attarintiki Daredi was released in Hindi dubbed version under the title Daring Baaz and it was also remade in Kannada as Ranna with Kiccha Sudeep, Rachita Ram and Haripriya playing the lead roles. Later, in Bengali it was released under the title Abhimaan with Jeet, Sayantika Banerjee and Subhasree Ganguly playing the lead roles.

As soon as the news got around about the Tamil remake of Attarintiki Daredi, rumours started buzzing that Vijay might feature in this remake. However, there has been no official announcements made yet regarding the cast of the film. If the reports are to be believed, Lyca has already signed the lead actor and director and they’re waiting for the right time to make the announcement. With Lyca Productions gearing up to remake Attarintiki Daredi in Tamil, movie lovers are excited to know who would be playing the lead role in it.

Meanwhile, Lyca Productions are currently busy with the production of Suriya 37, which is being made on a lavish budget. Suriya 37 will marks the third time collaboration of Suriya and KV Anand after Ayan and Maattraan. Reports suggest that, the yet-untitled film will also feature Arya, Mohanlal and Sayyeshaa in key roles. On the other hand, Lyca also has Dhanush’s Vada Chennai, which revolves around the life of a gangster from North Madras and 30 years of his life.
