Asus ZenFone Ares with AR and VR features launched

The Taiwanese mobile makers, Asus has launched a new mid-range smartphone, Asus ZenFone Ares. This smartphone is packed with lot of features similar to the previous ZenFone AR, which was launched in India last year. This new Asus ZenFone Ares comes with some highlight feature that include several augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) features. However, Asus has launched this new ZenFone Ares with Android Nougat OS out of the box and there is no official comments on weather this phone will get upgraded to Android Oreo and then to Android P. Currently, there is no official details if this new Asus phone will come to India anytime soon or not.

Let us take a look at the specifications of this new smartphone by Asus:

The Asus ZenFone Ares sports a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels at an aspect ratio of 16:9. This new phone sports a display panel that has a Tru2life technology, which will enable VR experiences for the users. It also comes with an oil-repellent coating. This new smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can be further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. The Asus ZenFone Ares runs Android Nougat with ZenUI on top.

Coming to the camera department, The Asus ZenFone Ares features a 23-megapixel sensor on the rear side with Asus’ high-res PixelMaster 3.0 technology and the company claims that it’s rear camera is capable of capturing motion tracking and depth sensing. Up front, it features an 8-megapixel sensor.

In terms of connectivity, this latest phone supports Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Additionally, this smartphone comes with SonicMaster 3.0 Hi-Res Audio 384 kHz audio decoder and also comes with DTS Headphone with 7.1 channel support. Coming to the security part, it comes with a fingerprint sensor that is embedded under the home button. The Asus ZenFone Ares is fuelled by a 3300mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support.
