Asus ZenFone AR In India: Phone with Tango & Day dream, A peek into the future

The first phone with both Google Tango and Google daydream is out for sale in India. After Lenovo, Asus has announced the launch of its Tango-based augmented reality (AR) smartphone, which is also Daydream View compatible,which promises to deliver deep virtual reality experiences.Tango is an AR computing platform developed by Google and Daydream View is Google’s new virtual reality (VR) headset.

In order toprovide the AR features in this new smartphone, Zenfone AR is equipped with a 23 MP rear camera, along with a fisheye camera with 170-degree field of view and a depth-sensing camera with IR projection. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor (optimised for Tango) and has 8 GB of RAM. And to provide Daydream feature, Asus has added a 5.7-inch 2k display with 515 pixels per inch display. To eliminate the motion blur, it has 2ms low persistence. The company says thatit has added Visual Master 3.0 for enhanced visuals.

The Zenfone AR includes high-end specifications, whichcomes with 128 GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 1 TB. It also has a 3300 mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge, which can charge 60 per cent of the battery in 45 minutes, because AR and VR apps can be power hungry. Zenfone AR will be available exclusively on Flipkart in India at a price ofRs 49,990.
